Jeep Lift Kit Accessories

Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013

Jeep lift kits can maximize your offroading fun, keep your jeep from being damaged, and make it look aggressive and domineering on the road. What many people don’t know is that along with these benefits and perks of having installed a lift, there are some adjustments and changes that need to be made to make up for it. And for these changes, certain accessories are available.

Odometer Adjuster

One of the things many people don’t think about when they install their new jeep lift kit is that bigger tires mean different odometer readings. Readings are based on the circumference of the tire and therefore when a lift kit and new bigger tires are installed, the odometer needs to be readjusted. An accessory that will help with this problem is the odometer adjuster. By using this tool, you can tell your odometer that your tire circumference has changed and once again get an accurate mileage reading on every trip.

Extended Brake Hoses

With taller vehicles comes the need for longer brake hoses. Standard hoses made for a standard jeep are most likely not going to be long enough to fit once you’ve added the jeep lift kit, depending on how long your suspension arms are. In general though, you will need to invest in longer brake hoses. Without these, there will be no moving or offroading for you, and they are very important so that a stretched standard brake hose doesn’t come undone or get broken while offroading.

All of these accessories can be found relatively cheaply and are usually pointed out when you purchase your kit. Talking with the sales associate or using your owner’s manual for the lift kit to determine exactly what size and brand of these accessories to buy will help you greatly in the installation and performance of them.

Original Used Parts For Your Jeep Now Available Online

Monday, April 8th, 2013

With Jeep one can associate terms like rugged, masculine, dependable and other superlatives that denote superior performance and unconditional resilience. These vehicles are a source of pride for their owners and only a Jeep Enthusiast can understand the significance of these four letters. Jeep as a vehicle is in a class of its own and there aren’t many competitors that can rival the sheer joy of ownership associated with a Jeep.

I am aware of many Jeep owners who treat their vehicle as if it were a family member. “Once you experience Jeep, you probably won’t think of any other vehicle”, that is something you expect to hear from these people and surprisingly they have got facts to prove it.

These high performance vehicles are renowned for their trailblazing features and durability. It is a proven fact that Jeep has taken off-roading to the next level with innovative technology and exciting features. There aren’t many vehicles on the road today or should I say “off the road” that can boast of the kind of off-road prowess that a Jeep exhibits.

With features like sturdy frames, macho looks, high ground clearance, big powerful engines, 4×4 at the touch of a button, traction control, Electronic Stability Control, locking front and rear differentials, front and rear Dana model 44 axles etc. there is hardly any competition to threaten the Jeep in its niche. This terrain conqueror is the pioneer in its sphere.

This is one vehicle that primarily specializes in off-roading. “Trail Rated” is what Jeep calls its vehicles that are equipped to handle any kind of terrain under varied driving conditions. These vehicles are tough and allow you to test their capabilities to the limit. Jeep SUVs and Crossovers have evolved tremendously over the years to provide power-packed performance on the road and off it.

These vehicles offer high performance at affordable prices. In fact, Jeep is the most cost effective vehicle when it comes to luxury off-roaders and SUVs. A Jeep is easy on maintenance and delivers well on the fuel-economy parameters as well. Although most high quality aftermarket auto-parts are compatible with these vehicles, Jeep does not recommend them. Only a handful of manufacturers specializing in performance-enhancing auto parts are recognized by Jeep for use in their vehicles.

Jeep discourages use of cheap aftermarket auto parts as replacements, in case a replacement is needed. They are strict about usage of only OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Parts for their vehicles. If you end up requiring a replacement part for your Jeep, make sure you buy only OEM parts or place an order with Jeep itself.

Aftermarket parts will definitely come cheap but this way you will be compromising on the safety and performance of your vehicle. If you feel that brand new OEM parts are expensive, for obvious reasons, you can consider buying used OEM parts.

Used auto parts could be the answer to your needs in case you don’t want to spend much on part replacements. It is a fact that used car parts cost one-third of what their brand new counterparts do. This way you can certainly end up saving some big bucks while making no compromises on the quality front.

You can also purchase these parts online and have them shipped to your doorstep at no extra costs. This is certainly a valid option to help you avoid aftermarket parts. You can locate a number of good deals online and compare prices or you can click the link below for some of the best deals on used auto parts for your Jeep.

Jeep Cherokee – It May Be Right For You

Saturday, March 30th, 2013

There are many car companies out there that make many different cars; different styles and different makes for different needs and families. Some companies have more history than others and its good to know a little about a car and its manufacturer before making a large purchase such as a car. If you have a family and need a car large enough to fit all of you and all of the stuff that comes with you for soccer games, dance class, camping trips, etc…. then a car like the Jeep Cherokee may be for you.

The Jeep company was founded in 1941 and did a lot of work for vehicles for the military. As the company aged and became larger it crossed over into civilian vehicles that were larger than the standard Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Cherokee was introduced in 1984 and was the model for the popular SUV of today. The first ones made offered both a two door and a four door versions but were essentially the same size. These were not only big sellers in the United States but in Europe and the UK. The sport utility vehicles that you drive today were most likely, in some way, inspired by the Jeep Cherokee.

The Jeep Cherokee has been updated as technology has changed and progressed. The first 1984 style is nothing like the one that was being produced in 1999 but the quality is the same. They may be basic when compared to other hyped up and fancy SUVs, but when you know that you are getting a product that is backed by a company that can be relied upon, that is worth more than some bells and whistles. The Cherokee was replaced in 2002 with the Jeep Liberty but in some foreign countries it still goes by the classic Cherokee name.

As stated earlier it is important to make sure that you do not go into an important purchase like a car without doing research, not only on the car, but the company that manufactures it as well. Any Jeep product is dependable but the Jeep Cherokee is a sure fire bet if you are looking for something large enough to fit your family and all of the needs that come with that. Informed decisions are the best ones.

2010 Jeep Liberty – Get the Bang For Your Buck!

Friday, August 6th, 2010

A fresh trim level is featured in the lineup of 2010 Jeep Liberty. The engine of Liberty is the same engine equipped in 2010 Dodge Nitro. A 4-speed automatic transmission is offered as standard option on all the 2010 Liberty models, along with a 3.7 liter V6 engine to produce a decent power level of 210 hp.

What’s New in 2010 Jeep Liberty

The fresh equipment in the 2010 Liberty is an interactive decal fuel shut off created by Chrysler that is designed for saving the fuel by shutting down the supply of gasoline during the time of the vehicle’s deceleration.

5000 lbs is the maximum towing capacity of the 2010 Liberty, which is however good enough, keeping its overall specs and pricing in mind. Limited and Sport version vehicles are offered with choice of a rear wheel drive and 4 wheel drive train.

Both the models have the feature of low range gearing for use off-road tracks. The new Liberty has the option of Sky Slider, which is a canvas roof that can be opened onto the seating rows of the vehicle, and this impressive sky slider is retractable.

In a Nutshell

As a whole, the 2010 Jeep Liberty is a decent performer in its class that provides the goodness of off-roading as well as decent fuel mileage on city streets, clubbed with some classy interiors, and a tinge of the old school boxy looks of original Jeep.

Last but definitely not the least; the new Liberty is definitely a bang for the buck, considering the standard offerings, and overall performance.
